Improvisational Comedy Workshop

Whose line is it anyway? Learn the basics of improvisational comedy and how to perform on the spot. You’ll get tips on ways to think on your toes and hone your communication skills. This workshop is more than a class; it’s a blast, so get ready to laugh.

Creative Writing Workshop

Write on! Learn how to get creative when writing letters, music, poetry, short stories, scripts, or homework. It all begins from just a few simple words and a desire to be a better writer. All levels are welcome.

Art Classes - About the Instructor

Soonya Kim earned a master’s degree in Fine Arts from Claremont Graduate University. Her work has been featured in Architectural Digest, The New York Times and in the Hollywood films, “The Island” and “Starship Troopers.” Sonya has had more that two dozen solo exhibits including shows in Germany, Japan, Korea, and in multiple U.S. venues. Her work has also been displayed in 100 group exhibitions and is included in 65 private and 23 public collections including the Palm Springs Art Museum.


Fundamentals of Drawing

This course is designed to teach the fundamentals of drawing to beginning students through a series of practical classroom projects. You’ll learn the principles of drawing and composition using different materials in black and white to explore the elements of line, space, value, light and shadow.

Painting and Advanced Painting

This course is designed to introduce basic painting methods and techniques. You will learn the inter-related elements of subject, shape, tone, pattern, texture and color. Intangible principles such as originality and creativity will be emphasized. Advanced Painting is intended to help achieve fuller creativity. Students will use their own subject matter, and will be personally directed to promote the fullest creative and expressive value of the work.
