Beginning Guitar

Get the basics you need to start playing the guitar. Learn to read chord charts and tablature, and develop skills like strumming, rhythm, finger picking and tuning. Play songs right away! Class material will be provided and you can also access a learning Web site to practice. It’s easy! If you need advice on buying a guitar, just contact the instructor for help. Bring any nylon, steel string or electric guitar to class, or you can purchase one at the first class.

Guitar Rock & Blues

It’s like playing Guitar Hero only it’s real! You’ll learn blues music scales so you can play shredding leads, rhythm and chords to back up your band. It’s the root of all rock ‘n roll from AC/DC to Led Zeppelin. Learn to read simple music and play rock rhythms. All class materials are provided, as well as access to learning Web site to help busy people practice. Just bring any nylon, steel string or electric guitar. Note: It is helpful to take Second Level Guitar class prior but not required.

Guitar Jam Class

The next time Jon Bon Jovi says, “You wanna jam?” – you are there. This rockin’ class is a fun way to learn to “jam” with other guitarists by improvising solos and playing rhythm guitar for rock and blues. Learn to improvise leads using rock scales, keeping simple rhythms with basic chords. Don’t expect virtuoso playing, just having fun and learning music. All class materials provided, including book, practice CD and access to learning Web site to help busy people practice. Just bring any nylon, steel string or electric guitar/amplifier.

Second Level Guitar

Keep strumming! In this second-level class you’ll continue learning new chords, rhythms and songs. Everything from Johnny Cash and Sheryl Crow to Rod Steward and others!
