District Sports Programs and Leagues

Well-structured sport programs and leagues can provide children and adults with opportunities to participate in physical activity that has immediate and long-term benefits. Fun and fitness go together, whether it’s basketball, volleyball, tennis, pickleball or golf that appeals to you. Get out and get active! You may join any of our ongoing sports programs as an individual or as a team.

Adult Co-Ed Slowpitch Softball

Softball is an outdoor team sport which is very similar to baseball. The primary differences are that softball is played with a larger ball, and softball pitchers pitch underhand. Softball can be played by persons of all ages and skill levels. Bring your friends and form your own team or sign up as an individual.

Dates: May 17 – July 12
Time: 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Ages: Division A 45 years and under
Division B 45 years and older
Fee: $60

Disc Golf

What is Disc Golf? It’s one of the fastest growing sports in the world! It’s just like regular golf where you drive, approach and putt; only you play with flying discs. That’s right; you throw flying discs into special disc golf baskets four feet high.

Sound challenging, well it is, but it’s fun, too! Disc Golf is easy to learn, is an affordable sport, and is perfect for the whole family play. You gotta try it!

Ages: 10 years and older
Fees: $20 per class



Summer Youth Basketball League

It’s time for the Summer Youth Basketball League to get started! Come and join us for the great sport of basketball. The league is open to all kids age 5 – 14 years old (not high school). This program provides instruction, and the game is played in a friendly competitive structured environment. It’s a great way to get exercise, meet new friends, and have fun! Volunteers are needed for coaching the players. To find out about the Coaching Training meeting call theCVRPD office.
Location: Indio and Palm Desert community centers
Days: Tuesday & Thursday (games)
Monday & Wednesday (practices)
Games and practices may be held at either location.
Dates: July 8 – August 14
Play-offs: August 19 – 28
Time:

5, 6, 7, or 8 p.m. (practices)
5:30, 6:30, or 7:30 p.m. (games)

Ages: 5 – 6 years, 7 – 8 years, 9 – 10 years,
11 – 12 years, & 13 – 14 years
Fees:

$65 (includes jersey and trophies)


Adult Men's 3 on 3 Basketball

Calling all basketball players! Come play some 3 on 3 b-ball every Saturday morning this summer. All fitness levels and skills are welcome. Sign up alone or bring your friends and enter as a team. Shootin’ hoops is a fun sport and a great way to get aerobic exercise.
